Automattic Announces Blaze Ad Network Of Millions of WordPress.com & Tumblr Sites

Automattic introduced a brand-new ad network called Blaze which places advertising on free WordPress.com websites and Tumblr. Marketing begins at $5/month.

Automattic is the business behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Akismet, Tumblr and other business.

It was founded by Matt Mullenweg, the entrepreneur who established the totally free WordPress open-source material management system (CMS).

Blaze Advertising Network

The advertising network was initially introduced in April 2022 as a network solely for Tumblr users to position ads on other Tumblr pages.

Automattic revealed that the network is now broadened to bloggers on WordPress.com and WordPress self-hosted publishers who have the Automattic Jetpack WordPress plugin set up.

Publishers on WordPress.com will be able to use the WordPress dashboard at wordpress.com/advertising to get started picking pages to advertise.

Advertising payment is for impressions, not clicks.

Those who are using the WordPress CMS can access Blaze through the Jetpack plugin.

If Jetpack isn’t currently set up then it needs to be installed, either the complimentary or superior version works.

Those who are utilizing Jetpack can then begin the campaign from the WordPress.com dashboard at https://wordpress.com/home.

From there a user navigates to the Posts or the Pages screen and scrolls down to pick the posts or pages for advertising, clicking a three-dot (ellipsis) menu to pick the Promote with Blaze option.

The user interface allows marketers to choose the audience that will see the advertisements. Audience choice is segmented by what continent the ads will appear in, what sort of devices will see the ads (mobile or desktop) and by what subject the advertisements will be displayed in.

Where Blaze

Advertisements Are Shown The marketing can appear from amongst countless Tumblr and complimentary WordPress.com webpages. Management of the Blaze ad campaign is done through the dashboard user interface at wordpress.com/advertising.

The projects are set up by a day-to-day spending plan and by dates that the marketing will be shown. Blaze ads include a title, a bit and an image.

According to the Blaze support page:”Title: This appears above your image and as bolded text. You can write a maximum of 80 characters here, use them sensibly to record the audience’s attention.

Snippet: A brief text description of your post that appears below your image. You can write a maximum of 120 characters here. We recommend utilizing this text to support your headline and offer audiences more context about what they will see when they click the ad and come to your content.

Image: Submit an image to represent your post. You can utilize the crop tool to change your image’s look in the ad.”
